A journal for night shift workers
Night shift breaks most journaling apps because they assume your day ends at midnight and your week looks like everyone else's. Natus does not care when your day starts. You write when you can, and every Sunday your actual week is read back to you, whether it happened at 2pm or 4am.

What people say in their own reviews
Verbatim from public 1 and 2 star App Store reviews of other apps in this category, not Natus.
Not usable for someone who works night shift1 star review on Reflectly
I'd love to be able to take advantage of this app, the UI seems great, unfortunately: the slider for setting your schedule is fixed so that my day is always wrong.
Not so Calm!!!!1 star review on Calm
I opened the app and it's asking me to subscribe!! I've been trying for hours to get this to work. It's 2 a.m.!
Not working now on my iPhone2 star review on Calm
I can not log in any of the profile check ins. It just locks up. I have resorting to do it on my iPad.
Why the usual apps miss your schedule
Review after review says the same thing: check-in windows that close at midnight, streaks that reset while you were at work, day boundaries that do not match a night shift. The apps were built for a 9 to 5 that is not yours.
What Natus does instead
No daily deadline, no streak to defend. You write when the shift allows, Ask when something is sitting on you, and the Sunday read-back takes the week as it actually was. The reflection fits the schedule instead of punishing it.
For the part of the job nobody sees
Night work accumulates things you cannot say out loud. A private journal that reads them back to you is not wellness. It is how the weight stops being invisible.
Common questions
- Does Natus assume a normal sleep schedule?
- No. There is no streak tied to calendar days and no morning check-in window to miss. You write when you can, and the Sunday read-back covers whatever the week held.
- Is there anything for the nights between Sundays?
- Ask Natus is built for that on Natus Pro, answered against your own map and your recent entries. Useful at 4am when the ward is quiet and your head is not.
- What does the free tier include?
- Your First Reading, a five-page Preview, a private journal, and your first Sunday letter. No card required.
